Shenzhen is one of the economic centers of China. The total economic output ranks fourth in mainland China for a long time and is one of the most economically beneficial cities in mainland China.
It is rich in agricultural and sideline products such as Longgang Chicken, Nantou Litchi, Nanshan Peach, Shiyan Pear, and Longhua Persimmon. Shajing Oyster is another specialty in Shenzhen.
The oldest city is the Nantou Ancient City, located at the northern end of the Nanshan Peninsula.
The largest peninsula is the Dapeng Peninsula. Located in the southeast of Longgang District, the area is 293.41 square kilometers. Because the peninsula is shaped like a big penguin and a sea, it is also the place where the Dapeng bird inhabits, hence the name Dapeng Peninsula.
The largest island is Neilingding Island. It is located on the sea surface about 9 kilometers south of the Nanshan Peninsula and covers an area of 4.85 square kilometers. Jianfeng Mountain is the highest point on the island, with an elevation of 341 meters. The island's plants are flourishing and there are many birds. There are about 8 groups of macaques in the group of about 200. It is now a nature reserve in Guangdong Province.
The largest reservoir is the Tiegang Reservoir, located in Xixiang Town, Baoan District.
The largest industrial base is the Longgang Industrial Zone. Shenzhen City has started the Longgang Industrial Zone as a major economic work, making it a new economic growth point for Shenzhen in the next few years.
